Aim

To equip people with the knowledge and skills required to be an effective facilitator. Investigating the difference between, coaching, training and facilitating. Knowing when to be a ‘true facilitator’ and when to direct and intervene. Inject confidence into the participants.

Target Audience

All managers, group leaders and trainers who have little or no previous training in facilitation skills.

Prerequisites

This course assumes no prior training within this subject.

 What is facilitation?  Contrasting facilitation to other roles  Observation and recording  Facilitation exercises  Intervention style feedback  Intervention skills  Stages of running a facilitation event  Active listening  Group stages, interactions; roles  Energy levels  Chaos can sometimes be magical

At the completion of this course participants will be able to:

 Understand the difference between Facilitation and other roles  Engage the participants of the meeting  Record significant details of Facilitation meetings  Intervene in a professional manner  Facilitate within groups  Produce an action Plan
