This course aims to introduce participants to the potential training and development aspects of their role as a line manager. It will show how their contribution to this function can help the achievement of organisational goals.

Target Audience

Line managers, team leaders, supervisors, section leaders.

Prerequisites

This course assumes no prior training within this subject.

 What is training and development?  Potential training and development aspects of a line manager’s role  Identifying training needs  Individual differences in learners  Range of options for meeting training needs  Matching needs and solutions  Planning training  Briefing learners before learning events  Evaluating training and development  Reviewing learning after learning events

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course participants will be able to:  Use practical methods for identifying training needs  Identify the contribution of different learning and development solutions for meeting training needs  Identify individual differences in learners that will impact on the choice of learning solutions, and implementation of learning in the workplace  Brief learners  Review learning with learners  Evaluate how a learning event or process has contributed towards specified individual or organisational goals
